Areas of expertise
I completed my Biology degree in the University of Seville (Spain), where I also completed my PhD in the ecology and evolution of sex polymorphisms in plants, with a focus on daffodils (Narcissus). During my postdoc period, I worked in the tropical species Dalechampia scandens and related species. This represented a step forward in my career to better understand the adaptive value of floral traits and rewards in the context of phenotypic selection. After this period, I gained a Juan de la Cierva contract in the University of Seville and continue working on floral polymorphisms in the genus Linum. At present I am Senior Lecturer in the University of Portsmouth. My research interests now are much wider to underpin the evolutionary ecology of pollination interactions and floral evolution.
